Privacy Policy - Mobile App

TDJ Australia Pty Ltd has built the Gator Tracking App for use with Gator branded GPS Tracking devices. The use of the app is free and is available to download from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. The use of this system is provided at no cost and is intended for use as designed. There are paid elements that do require a subscription, you must subscribe on our website to add those.

We value your privacy immensely. This policy document is used to inform users of our Mobile App about our policies relating to the collection, use, and disclosure of personal and business information. We do not, and will never, sell your personal data.

1. What Information We Collect

To provide our tracking services and comply with App Store Data Safety requirements, we accurately disclose that we collect the following categories of data:

  • Precise Location Data: Because this is a GPS tracking app, we collect and process the precise location of your Gator tracking devices. This is considered Sensitive Personal Information. We also (if you enable it) track locally (in-app) your phone. This is not being sent to the server though. 
  • User IDs: We collect account identifiers (User IDs) to associate your app instance securely with your Gator tracking portal account. 
  • Device and App IDs: We collect hardware and software identifiers (such as your phone's make/model, OS version, and tracker IMEI numbers) to ensure your app communicates correctly with your specific hardware.
  • Log Data: In the event of an app error, we collect data and information (through third-party products) on your phone called Log Data. This may include your device Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, device name, OS version, app configuration, and crash statistics.

2. Why We Use Your Personal Data

We process the personal data we collect strictly for the following purposes:

  • To provide, operate, and maintain the core functionality of the Gator Tracking GPS service.
  • To securely authenticate your account using User IDs and Device IDs.
  • To troubleshoot technical issues, improve app stability, and provide customer support.

3. Data Sharing and Service Providers

We will not use or share your information with any third party unless we are compelled to by State or Australian Federal law. However, we do employ trusted third-party service providers to facilitate our service, provide the service on our behalf, or assist us in analyzing how our service is used. These include:

These third parties have access to your Information only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use the information for any other purpose.

Your Right to Know About Data Sales and Sharing: You have the right to know whether your personal data is sold or shared. We proudly confirm that we do not sell your personal data to anyone. We only share data with the essential service providers listed above.

4. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you have specific rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right to Access: You have the right to request access to the personal data that we have collected about you. 
  • Right to Rectification: You have the right to request that we correct any inaccurate or incomplete personal data we hold about you. Usually you can just update this online yourself.
  • Right to Opt-Out of Data Sale / Targeted Ads: You have the right to opt-out of the "sale" of your personal data or its use in targeted advertising. How to opt-out: Because we strictly do not sell user data or engage in targeted advertising, your data is already opted-out by default. No further action is required on your part.

5. Security

We value your trust in providing us your Information, thus we are always striving to use the best means at our disposal to protect your data. The App uses but does not store your account username and password. Once the connection is established, only a secure token is stored on your phone and is frequently refreshed. If you logout, this token is invalidated. If you delete the phone from the account on the web-interface, all tokens are invalidated immediately.

6. Cookies

Cookies are files with a small amount of data commonly used as anonymous unique identifiers. This service does not use these “cookies” explicitly. However, the app and Web UI may use third-party code and libraries that use cookies to collect information and improve their services. You have the option to either accept or refuse these cookies; however, refusing them may limit portions of the service. Of course, this website and the main tracking application website DOES use cookies.

This Service may contain links to other sites. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. Note that these external sites are not operated by us. Therefore, we strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of these websites.
